PAST

  • Computationally characterizing the Type VI secretion system (T6SS) tip protein VgrG in environmental isolates of Vibrio cholerae based on several physical and biological parameters. This is to understand the rules behind the types of effectors that can be accommodated in the tip protein.

  • Comparative genomics of T6 clusters in Vibrio species to observe the presence of different genetic architectures.

  • Identifying the presence of human gut residents with T6SS VgrGs containing Actin Cross-linking domains, and investigating their possible role in inducing gut peristalsis.
